When Jeni and Benjamin Sahl adopted Noa at birth they never foresaw the huge challenges that unexpected corticial blindness (the inability of the brain to process imagery), aphasia (speechlessness) and a series of physical handicaps provoked by a prenatal stroke would bring to their new family life. They are helping her learn to experience the world with her remaining senses.
